DCist Exposed Photography Show, Magazine Design & Layout
This magazine features work from over 100 local photographers who have captured moments of everyday life in DC. With such vivid subject matter to work with, I created a clean and minimalist layout that would showcase the photos.

Sweetgreen's Sweetlife Food & Music Festival, Event Signage
I designed 150+ signs, stage scrims, and web banners for the eco-conscious food and music festival, using branding created by the awesome iStrategyLabs. 15,000 people trekked out to the Merriweather Post Pavilion for Sweetlife 2011, which was headlined by the Strokes. Sweetlife 2012 had over 17,000 attendees and featured performances by AVICII, Kid Cudi, and the Shins.
Thanks to Brightest Young Things and Josh Cogan for the artist photos and to Wandering Hat for the recap video.

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, Promotional Pieces
These are promotional pieces I created for the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington in 2010-11. As a major non-profit, the Y has a number of strict marketing guidelines (which recently underwent a significant rebranding, as seen here), and I worked with the design department to ensure that the pieces fell within the national/regional standards but were also engaging and conveyed a unique sense of community.

Kaiser Permanente, Collateral
I created this collateral for Kaiser Permanente, a non-profit health care organization focused on total health.

Kinder Koffee, Branding Identity
Kinder Koffee is a locally-owned coffee shop that sells organic, free trade coffee. They want to be seen as a friendlier and more personal alternative to big name coffee shops, and they also want to emphasize their dedication to the highest quality natural ingredients. For the logo, I used an image of coffee berries to tie the end product to the natural process, and I incorporated a creamy color palette to evoke the rich coffee experience.

The Walking Company, Rebranding
The Walking Company is a nationwide shoe store that sells comfort shoes from around the world. One of the biggest obstacles in this market is the predominant perception that comfort shoes are clunky, unattractive, and a compromise forced on older consumers. This rebranding seeks to shift this mindset, emphasizing comfort shoes as a luxury item for serious professionals.

Mac Motorcycles, Magazine Spread
Mac Motorcycles is a small British motorcycle manufacturer that specializes in simple, elegant, and innovative design meant to enhance the riding experience. For their feature spread, I used a black and white palette and significant amounts of white space to complement their less-is-more ideology and create a sense of open space.

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Poster Series
Every year, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival releases a signature poster for their iconic series. I created a 3-poster set for this series to accompany a Jazz Fest website I was also designing. I wanted to capture the emotion and energy of the festival and the spirit that is New Orleans jazz.
